Joan Boada Will Be Joining Us Once Again for Our Spring Showcase!
We are very pleased to announce that Joan Boada, principal dancer of San Francisco Ballet, will be returning for our Spring Showcase performance of The Sleeping Beauty. A native of Havana, Cuba, Joan Boada trained at the National Ballet School of Cuba and danced with seven international companies before joining San Francisco Ballet as a principal dancer in 1999. Among his major roles are Albrecht in Giselle, Nutcracker Prince in Nutcracker, Romeo in Romeo & Juliet, Blue Bird in The Sleeping Beauty, Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Basilio in Don Quixote, Lensky in Onegin. Boada’s honors include an Isadora Duncan Dance Award for Best Ensemble Performance with Lorena Feijoo for Tomasson/Possokhov’s Don Quixote in 2003, and various awards at international ballet competitions in 1994 and 1995.
