Class Division Requirements
Ballet I: Recommended 1-2 classes per week (2/wk required for progression)
Ballet II: Recommended 2 classes per week (3/wk required for progression)
Ballet III: minimum of 3 classes per week (*a minimum of 3 technique classes is required into order to take Pre-Pointe)
Ballet IVA: minimum of 4 technique classes, 2 pointe classes and one alternative class per week
Ballet IVB: minimum of 5 technique classes, 2 pointe classes and one alternative class per week
Ballet V: minimum of 5 technique classes, 4 pointe classes, 1 conditioning class and 1 alternative class per week
Ballet VI/VII: minimum of 5 technique classes, 4 pointe classes, 1 conditioning class and 1 alternative class per week
Regular attendance is necessary to maintain your level. The office must be notified prior to all absences. Make up classes must be taken within the same month that the absence occurred or will be forfeited. Make ups can be taken in the students own level or the levels below. Extreme absences will result in a re-evaluation of placement.
LDT Dress Code
Classical Ballet Division and Young Dancer – Solid color leotard, pink tights, canvas or leather ballet shoes, and hair in a clean professional bun, no embellished headbands. Ballet skirts are allowed for Variations class only. No Tutus or costumes please. Students levels IV-VII are expected to have pointe shoes at ALL TIMES!
Commercial/Contemporary Division: Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Broadway Jazz -Dance appropriate clothing, hair up, and black or tan jazz shoes.
