Curriculum: Ballet technique, variations, stretch and strengthening, jazz and contemporary.

Gonzalo Garcia, Principal Dancer New York City Ballet

Gonzalo Garcia is a principal dancer with New York City Ballet. Born in Zaragoza, Spain, Mr. Garcia began studying ballet at the age of eight at Maria Avila’s school. In 1995, he attended the summer session at San Francisco Ballet School. Following this session, Mr. Garcia participated in the Prix de Lausanne, becoming the youngest dancer to receive a gold medal. He then returned to the School to resume his studies and was selected by Helgi Tomasson, Artistic Director of San Francisco Ballet, to perform in a world premiere ballet created especially for the 1996 Spring Student Showcase. Mr. Garcia joined San Francisco Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet in March 1998. In 2000, he was promoted to soloist, and in 2002 to principal dancer. Mr. Garcia was invited to perform Balanchine’s Ballo della Regina with New York City Ballet as part of the Company’s Balanchine Centennial Celebration in 2004. Mr. Garcia joined New York City Ballet in October of 2007 as a principal dancer.

Joaquin De Luz, Principal Dancer New York City Ballet

Joaquin De Luz was born in Madrid and received his training at the Victor Ullate School of Ballet. He danced with Victor Ullate Ballet Company from 1992 until 1995. In August 1996, he joined the Pennsylvania Ballet as a soloist. With Pennsylvania Ballet, he danced leading roles in La Bayadère, Diana and Acteon, Don Quixote, Paquita Suite, The Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake, as well as George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, Theme and Variations, and Who Cares?
Mr. De Luz joined American Ballet Theatre as a member of the corps de ballet in 1997 and was promoted to soloist in 1998. His repertory with ABT included the Bronze Idol in La Bayadère (choreographed by Natalia Makarova after Marius Petipa), the Red Cowboy in Billy The Kid (Eugene Loring), the first sailor in Fancy Free (Jerome Robbins), Benno in Swan Lake (Kevin McKenzie after Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov), and leading roles in Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 (Clark Tippet) and Theme and Variations (George Balanchine).
Mr. De Luz joined New York City Ballet as a soloist in 2003, and in January 2005, he was promoted to the rank of principal dancer.

Liudmila Konovalova:

Graduate of the Bolshoi Academy. Liudmila is currently a principal with Vienna Stattsopera, Austria.

Emi Hariyama:

Graduate of the Bolshoi Academy. Emi is currently with Staats Ballet, Berlin, Germany.

Lauren Richter:

Currently dancing with Opera Nationala Bucuresti. She attended the Academie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace Monaco, and the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School of ABT. Lauren is a former ballet student of Laguna Dance Theatre.

Katherine Rochon Thomas:

Trained with the School of American Ballet, and Pittsburg Ballet. Kathy is a Certified Pilates and Pure Barre instructor in Cherry Creek, CO. Kathy is an alumni and former teacher of Laguna Dance Theatre.

Chasen Greenwood (Contemporary):

Dancer, Actor, Singer; Trained with Houston Ballet, Ballet Austin, Pacific Northwest Ballet and Dallas Black.

Jacquelyn Jenae Sutkowi (Jazz):

BFA Graduate of Chapman University. She has appeared in roles such as 2007 MTV Movie Awards/Orbit Gum Commercial, 2006 The Dating Factory with Mario Lopez, Dick Clarks Rockin’ New Year’s Eve, The OC and Las Vegas.

Allison Eggers (Dance History):

Graduate of Bard University in New York City and a Laguna Dance Theatre Alumni. She resides in New York where she works in set design and theatre lighting and teaches Dance History at American Ballet Theatre School.

Miranda Weese:

A former NYCB and PNB Principal dancer.

Katie Scherman (Contemporary Ballet):

Graduate of Alonzo King Lines, BFA Graduate, Dominica University, formerly with Hubbard Street, Chicago and the Washington Ballet.

Nicola Curry:

Current member of ABT.

Stephanie Walz:

A former member of ABT and a current member of The Washington Ballet.

Aura Dixon, New York City Ballet

Aura Dixon was born in San Diego, CA. where she trained until the age of 14. Aura was awarded a full scholarship to the School of American Ballet in NY and then joined NYCB in 1992. Following the death of George Balanchine, NYCB continued under the direction of Peter Martins and Jerome Robbins. Aura’s repertoire included not only the greatest works choreographed by George Balanchine but those created by Jerome Robbins. Her repertoire included Apollo, The Four T’s, Jewels, La Source, Dances at a Gathering, Fancy Free, Goldberg Variations and George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker. Aura danced in The NYCB until 2001 and continues to teach students who love ballet and wish to share her passion for dance.

Kristin D’Addario, Miami City Ballet

Ms. D’Addario began her dancing at Laguna Dance Theatre at the age of five. At the age of 16 Kristin attended the School of American Ballet, and at 19 went to the Miami City Ballet School. She joined MCB as a member of the corps in 2003 her repertoire with MCB includes Push Comes to Shove, Stars & Stripes, Western Symphony, Symphony in C, Cortege and The Nutcracker.

Jodie Gates, Joffrey Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Ballet Frankfurt, Complexions

Jodie Gates has been working professionally at the highest level in the ballet world for over twenty years. Most recently Ms. Gates was working with Ballet Frankfurt under the direction of William Forsythe in Frankfurt, Germany. Ms. Gates professional dance career began at the age of 16, dancing with the Joffrey Ballet in New York City. In 1995, she joined The Pennsylvania Ballet as a principal ballerina and by invitation of Mr. Forsythe, joined and danced for the Frankfurt Ballet for four years.

Angela Snow, ABT

Angela Snow began ballet lessons at the age of seven at the School of Oregon Ballet Theatre with Haydée Gutierrez and James Canfield. In February 2001, Snow joined American Ballet Theatre’s Studio Company and shortly afterwards became an apprentice to the main Company in April 2001. Snow joined American Ballet Theatre as a member of the corps de ballet in June 2001. Her repertoire with the Company includes the third girl in Fancy Free and Rosaline’s friend in Romeo and Juliet, as well as roles in La Bayadère, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Symphony in C.
