PRIMARY DIVISION

Designed for students ages 3-6 years old who wish to experience the joy of dance and movement.

 

In this division students will be introduced to proper ballet class etiquette and work to develop their focus, coordination, strength, flexibility, and musicality in a fun and creative atmosphere. After graduating the Primary Division, students will be prepared to audition for the Academy Division. 

 

Primary Ballet A: (Ages 3-4) 1 hour per week recommended

 

Primary Ballet B: (Ages 4-5) 1 hour per week recommended

*1 Hour of Tap/Contemporary is Optional*

 

Primary Ballet C: (Ages 5-6): 2 hour per week recommended

*Including 1 Hour of Tap/Contemporary*

ACADEMY DIVISION

Designed for pre-professional students ages 6-18 years old. Audition only.

 

In this division students will study the Vagonova Method of Classical Ballet and work to develop correct alignment, technique, strength, flexibility, coordination, musicality, and artistry. Students can expect to remain in each level for 1-2 years until complete mastery of the curriculum is achieved. Discipline, hard work, and determination are required of all students in order to progress. Students must be able to fulfill the minimum number of required hours per level in order to enroll. Academy Beginning A: 4-5 hours per week

(Ages 6-8) 

 

One year of prior training required. In this level the basics of classical technique are introduced with an emphasis on placement of the arms and legs, alignment of the spine, building external rotation in the hips, basic barre work (facing the barre), jumps, and conditioning.

 

 

Academy Beginning B: 7.5 hours per week required

(Ages 7-11)

​

Two years of prior training required. In this level students continue to build on the concepts introduced in Academy Beginning A and work to increase their overall flexibility and strength. Barre work is done with one hand on the barre and the coordination of the head with the arms is introduced. More work on demi-pointe is added to begin building strength for pointe. Beginning turns are taught and more complex jumps are also introduced at this level.

Academy Intermediate: 11 hours per week required

(Ages 10-15)

 

Intermediate level required. In this level students will begin work on pointe and add more complexity to their movements. They will focus on coordination of the entire body as well as musicality and artistry.

 

Academy Advanced: 17.5 hours per week required

(Ages 13-18)

 

Advanced level required. In this level students will continue to refine their technical and artistic abilities and work to further develop their pointe work, grand tours, and grand allegro.

OPEN DIVISION

 

Open Junior Level:

(Ages 8-12)

 

In our Open Junior level students will receive the same quality instruction in Classical Ballet as in our Academy program without a  a min of hours . They will also have the opportunity to take classes in Lyrical, Jazz, Tech & Turns, and Conditioning with our highly esteemed Richter Dance Company faculty. This program is perfect for students looking to supplement their current training or for serious Gymnasts/Figure Skaters. Please see the class schedule below.

Open Level Adv: 6 hour per week required

(Ages 14-18)

 

In our Open Senior level students will receive the same quality instruction in Classical Ballet as in our Academy program without a min of hours required . They will also have the opportunity to take classes in Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tech & Turns, and Conditioning with our highly esteemed Richter Dance Company faculty. This program is perfect for students looking to supplement their current training or for students participating in High School Dance Teams.

HOMESCHOOL DIVISION

 

Homeschool Beg/Int Level: 

(Ages 8-14)

​

Our Home School program is the perfect option for students looking to try and/or continue their dance training in a more quiet and sheltered environment, due to classes taking place during the morning/early afternoon hours. One to Two years of prior training is required depending on the class. Please see the class schedule below.

PILATES/DANCE CONDITIONING

 

Teen/Adult Pilates:

(Ages 12+)

We are pleased to offer both Teen/Adult Pilates Mat Classes as well as Private Reformer Sessions for those looking to strengthen their core, increase flexibility, reduce lower back pain/injury, build lean muscle mass, and increase overall health/well being.

Dance Conditioning:

(Ages 8+)

​

We also offer a very specialized Dance Conditioning program led by Ms Lauren Henry. She works privately with high level dancers, skaters, and gymnasts to help improve her students' anatomical structure and physicality required by their sport/art form. She helps them over come previous injuries as well as prevent future injuries. Ms Lauren has seen great results in her students ability to improve their range of turn out, flexibility, ankle mobility, strength in pointe work, shoulder and back placement, over all use of core strength, and injury recovery/prevention.

PRIVATES

Private lessons are available upon request. However due to the small class sizes and individualized instruction, we do not believe that privates are necessary in order to progress. Privates can be useful to work on specific issues or challenges that a student may be facing in their technique or to prepare for a special event such as a performance or competition. Prices available upon request.

COMPETITIONS

Participation in competitions is through invitation only or upon the approval of the Director.

Our students have successfully competed in YAGP, CDC, Spotlight Awards, and many commercial competitions such as KAR, Starbound, and Rainbow Competition.
